I don't think you fully understood the assignment.
I re-arranged your photos so that I could give you the best mark possible....but your photos all look closer to mid-range depth of field, than to shallow or deep depth of field.

You did a great job capturing expression. They are all great photographs...they just don't necessarily fulfill the criteria.
